How to Get to Maastricht

Maastricht is very well connected from across Europe:

By Train: Frequent direct trains from major Dutch cities (e.g., Amsterdam, Utrecht, Eindhoven) make Maastricht easy to reach by rail. The journey from Amsterdam takes around 2½ hours by Intercity train. 

By Air: Maastricht Aachen Airport and nearby international airports (e.g., Brussels, Eindhoven, Düsseldorf) provide easy access via short trains, buses, or taxis.

By Car: Maastricht lies near the A2/E25 motorway, with clear signs from major Dutch cities and neighboring countries.

How to Rent a Bike

Cycling is a quintessential Dutch experience, and Maastricht is very bike-friendly with dedicated paths, rental shops, and smooth routes along the Meuse River and into the surrounding countryside.  

You can rent bicycles from local providers, including options for:

  • Touring or road bikes for longer excursions
